Smoky Mountain Songbirds

Our team is named after Dolly Parton because of her excellent music and legacy giving back to others (e.g., the Imagination library - which has a local branch in Detroit).

We are a team of friends for the Detroit recreational league. One founding member, Olivia, comes from a family of NSA hall-of-fame coaches for a 501(c)3 youth organization operating out of North Carolina (Player’s Fastpitch; John Godfrey & Bobby Shoemaker). We were able to start our team with donated bats and gloves from the Players organization.

Our team includes skilled and experienced softball athletes playing and training alongside newcomers to the sport (and some who are experiencing the fun of team sports for the first time).
